Trouble getting into Google Search Engine?

How to get into Google's Search Engine by Submitting your Web Site to Google

Add URL To Search Engines

For years, I myself was a DMOZ editor.  DMOZ used to be one of the only ways to get into Google Directory and eventually, Google search.  At first, DMOZ wasn't as well known as it is now, so there were fewer submissions and less wait  time for new sites to be accepted into the directory.  Lately, though I've not been an editor and have been busy submitting sites to DMOZ myself as an SEO.  I've waited months and months for some websites to be listed and sometimes the websites I submitted failed to appear in DMOZ at all.

I've had experiences with upper level editors who are so full of themselves that they become "witch hunters" and exclude websites that are otherwise good and informative websites that Google would welcome as good content websites.

DMOZ has become such a hassle nowadays that there are ways around DMOZ:

1)  Submit URL  to Google directly
2)  Use Claymont Search Engine which feeds Google's directory

DMOZ has made such a name for itself  in part due to it's editors changing the submitted URL descriptions, that there are now special meta tags to force your pages own descriptions and bypass the DMOZ description.

The Netscape Open Directory witch hunt may be close to over with since the public is becoming aware of DMOZ's policies and politics.  For many years, I've emailed DMOZ to suggest that if they would charge a minimal fee to get listed then they could afford to pay their editors.  That might attract editors that just want to do their job and not those who want to sit on their home thrones while unjustly dumping appropriate websites that happen to be in a category where their own business is listed ; )  Just my take on it.
