SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the Field of Study Dedicated to Placing your
Website at the Top of the Search Engines.

There are several ways to get your website to the "top of the search engines".  Then there are three ways to get your website ranked number one on the search engine page for your search terms.  Here are the three main opportunities to get your web site to the top of the search engines:

  • The most effective and sure fire way to get to number one on any search engine is by bidding on keywords or phrases via the sponsored listings (i.e., Google for instance).   Sounds simple right?  Well it used to be, but now you almost have to be an expert to work the sponsored listings for your business to get a decent return on investment.   Here are some common mistakes newbies make when doing their own PPC (pay per click sponsored listings).

  1. Using broad search terms ($$ pricey mistake)

  2. Bidding too high on keywords that you really  can't afford

  3. Marketing nationally when your customers are local

Contact Us for Search Engine First Page PlacementSome industries can justify paying $3.00 or more per click because they have tweaked their listing based on watching web stats and return on investment over time.  They know who their market is, where it is and which keywords are likely to work best.  They have different ad campaigns with same key phrases or words running to see which one works best for their industry.

If you are like us, time is money.  Your time is best spent running your business rather than becoming an expert at PPC.  The only way you will know this for sure is to try it yourself or take our word for it.  There are companies out there who ONLY specialize in PPC and they are usually good at it and worth your time if they are reputable.  We like to make sure our clients really DO get the best ROI (return on investment) and sometimes that's a bit of trial and error.

We've written some software that one up's Google's phrase suggestions and will target your paying customers which can list you at the top for your industry specific key phrases for less than 15 cents per phrase.   You may have up to a million key phrases.  Scary?  Nope.   Here's why....You can limit your campaign to as little as $50 per month and still get good ROI on a million highly targeted and campaign specific key phrases using our software.   Within those 20,000 or 1,000,000 phrases, you will find specific combinations of words in every different order your customers can imagine, eliminating the need for pricey broad search terms.  More than likely, those ads won't all get clicked on unless your customer finds exactly what they are looking for.  They are low priced and likely to find buyers of your goods or services.   And there's nothing that substitutes for a well written specific "Ad" that chases off people who AREN'T your purchasing customers.   Questions?  Call 970-545-2954.

  • The second most effective way to get people to visit and purchase your services are local listings.  Some are free, some are not.  If you sell nationally or worldwide, you probably won't get listed here.

  • The third most effective way is to get your website set up correctly to rank well based on organic or natural listings.  Usually these listings will be located below the sponsored listings.  That's what Search Engine Optimization or SEO companies do for you.  We've found that those people who feel untrusting of those sponsored or local listings are still looking for what they deem trustworthy companies in the organic listings.  Just like you will do when  you are looking for an SEO company, they will shop around.

Your website can land at the top of the search engines by two processes:

Natural listings due to the search engines liking your webpage format and information

-  or  by -

pay-per-click (bidding on keywords against other competitors keywords.)

Which is cheaper for your pocket book and which is more effective?

The powerful Pay Per Click

WELL...  It depends on your industry, your resources, your timeframe and your business plan.    If you're in a hurry and you have your items or services ready to sell, then by all means, design your website based on the general rules of the search engine recommendations, launch your website and begin selecting your keywords and key phrases for the pay-per-click systems right out of the shoot.

In some competitive categories, companies are paying up to $80 per click, so you need to keep in mind your budget for advertising.                             Did I get your attention yet?

HOWEVER................

IF you have some time to spend with your webmaster developing your website and investigating your target market on the internet (keeping in mind that you've hired the right SEO to do your website), then you may have a great chance of landing number one or three four five up to 12 positions on the first page of the search on any search engine for that particular keyword or product.  Those nicely placed listings are called "natural listings" because they are naturally selected by the search engine based on the fact that parts of the website match what they are looking for.  And they are always looking for relevancy.   Then during the time when the search engines are processing your submission requests, you might think about doing some payperclick to supplement your income until the search engines pick up your website and decide where you land in the searches.  Then lastly, if you have some keywords that rank well and a few that don't, just do pay per click on the keywords or products where you are weakly represented via the searches.

Don't spend your hard earned advertising dollars on high frequency keywords unless you have money to burn. Most companies want to pay for the highly targeted low frequency keywords, and make that thousands of them. Depending on your market, you could pay a minimal fee for highly targeted clicks into your website.

The truth is that there is no single, perfect way to ensure that you'll receive a high ranking.  Even if you do get a great ranking, there's no assurance that you'll keep it for long.  That's why you need a SEO specialist who will keep up with the latest search engine trends and changes on a periodic basis.  Search engine optimization is critical to stay ahead of your competitors on the web.
